Description

Indulge in the delightful experience of making Cinnamon Swirled Banana Bread, a moist and scrumptious treat that combines the comforting flavors of ripe bananas and warm cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1.5 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 4 bananas)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (for swirl)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 6 thin slices of ripe banana (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter with granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Gradually add flour and baking soda; mix until just combined. Fold in mashed bananas until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, and ground cinnamon to create the swirl mixture.
  5. Layer the batter and swirl mixture in the prepared pan: start with batter, then dollop with the swirl mixture; repeat layers until all is used.
  6. Bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Keywords: Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture. Avoid overmixing once you add flour to keep the bread light and fluffy. Check for doneness early to prevent overbaking.
