  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth
  • 1 ounce au jus gravy mix (1 packet)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the steak with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat; sear half of the steak until browned on all sides, then repeat with remaining steak.
  3. Transfer seared steak to a 6-quart Crockpot.
  4. Layer sliced onion and garlic on top of the steak.

  6. Add slices of unsalted butter evenly over everything.
