  • 1/2 cup non-alcoholic beef broth (alternative for red apple vinegar)
  • 1012 lasagna noodles, broken into 12 inch pieces
  • 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar (optional)
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Extra fresh basil leaves or chopped parsley
  • Crusty garlic bread or warm baguette

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, browning thoroughly. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in diced onions and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes; cook until fragrant.
