  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup fruit juice or broth
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried sage, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 16 meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs for about 6 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Boil peeled and cubed sweet potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (12-15 minutes). Drain.
  4. In the same skillet, deglaze with chicken broth, then add maple syrup and Dijon mustard; simmer.
  5. Return meatballs to the skillet to cook through (8-10 minutes).
  6. Mash sweet potatoes with butter, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
