Ideal for sharing at family gatherings, parties, or simply enjoying on a cozy evening, these cookies are easy to prepare and can be customized with your favorite toppings. Whether served warm or at room temperature, they promise to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter with both sugars using an electric mixer until smooth. Add vanilla extract and eggs; mix until fully combined.
  2. Gradually add dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt—mixing until a dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  3. Scoop dough into balls (about 140 grams each). Press extra chocolate chips into the tops if desired and chill in the fridge for at least three hours or freeze for one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Place cookie balls spaced apart on sheets and bake for 12 to 16 minutes until edges are golden but centers may appear slightly underbaked.
  5. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
