  2. Cut off the tops and set them aside. Use any remaining strawberries in other recipes.
  3. In a small pot, combine the strawberry tops and water, covering the tops completely.
  4. Add an equal amount of sugar to the mixture (4 cups) and stir well.

  6. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring cup, pressing down on the strawberry tops for maximum extraction.
